PS5 Controller's Battery Life 3 to 4 Hours Longer than DualShock 4

PlayStation 5’s new DualSense controller will have a more robust battery life than its PlayStation 4 predecessor, according to a second-hand report that circulating on Reddit. Information about the pad was purportedly shared on the site before being pulled, although the details – including a video of the peripheral as proof of the information’s validity – remain.

The post states that the d-pad and face buttons feel “similar” to the DualShock 4, although the touchpad is said to be “more responsive”. it’s claimed that the L1 and R1 buttons feel more like triggers now, and the L2 and R2 buttons are tighter, even without the “tension points activated”. The light which surrounds the touchpad is also said to be dimmer than the LED on the DualShock 4.

But it’s the battery life that will perhaps prick up most ears: apparently it averages three to four hours longer than the PS4’s pad. It’s probably worth mentioning that, even if this information is accurate, it doesn’t sound like the user was leveraging all of the device’s features – such as the abovementioned adaptive triggers and haptic feedback – thus your mileage may vary.
